Patient found hanging in hospital toilet

A male patient was found hanging from the ventilator of the toilet of Sherpur Sadar Hospital on Wednesday night, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Malek, 65, of Lasmanpur in the sadar upazila.

Abdullah al Mamun, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said Malek got admitted to the hospital on 26 October following Urinary Tract infection.

On Wednesday, his wife found him hanging from the ventilator of the toilet around 10:00pm.

Police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue. Police suspected that Malek might have committed suicide.
