Boy found dead in Bagerhat

A five-year-old boy was found dead in a water body at Chouddahajir village in Chitalmari, Bagerhat on Tuesday night, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Rifat Talukdar, son of Mannan Talukdar of the village.

Locals informed police after spotting the body of Rifat at night, UNB quoted additional superintendent of police Mahfuz Abjal as saying.

Police recovered the body and sent it to a local hospital morgue for autopsy.

Quoting family sources, police said Rifat had gone out of home to meet his father at their crop land near the house around 1pm and had remained missing since then.

Police suspected that the boy might have been murdered.
