Dhaka’s train communication with the northern part of the country was disrupted after the engine of a local train broke down near Jhaoil overbridge in Kamarkhand upazila of Sirajganj on Thursday morning, reports UNB.

“The number 551 local train going to Dhaka from Rajshahi stopped near the overbridge at around 8:20am when its engine broke down due a leak in the water tank,” said Shahabuddin Ahmed, the loco master.

“An engine from Banalata Express arrived from Rajshahi and is pulling the stranded local train towards Bangabandhu Bridge west railway station,” he added.
