UAE embassy marks national day

The UAE embassy in Dhaka on Thursday celebrated the country's 48th national day amid much festivities and enthusiasm.

On the occasion, the embassy hosted a reception at a hotel in the capital, according to a press release.

The press release says, finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal attended the reception as the chief guest.

Ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, ministers, members of parliament, senior government officials, business persons, media personalities, and personalities from academic and social institutions also attended the ceremony, adds the release.

The press release further says that chargé d'affaires of the UAE embassy in Dhaka, Abdulla Ali AlHmoudi, along with the guests, took to the stage to inaugurate the celebration.

The UAE national day celebrations brought a taste of home to the members of the UAE community in Bangladesh.

The press release also says that chargé d'affaires in his welcome speech mentioned remarkable achievements of the UAE over the past 47 years.

The UAE envoy also highlighted the glorious journey of UAE ties with Bangladesh for over four decades.

In his speech AlHmoudi also said, the world’s greatest show Expo 2020 Dubai will host 190 participating countries and millions of visitors from across the globe, adds the press statement.
