Locally-made weapons were recovered from four residential halls of Chittagong University after a clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Saturday night, reports UNB.

Additional superintendent of Chattogram metropolitan police (North) Moshiudoula Reza said that the police raided Shahjalal, Shah Amanat, Shaheed Suhrawardy and Shaheed Abdur Rab halls.

Apart from local weapons, police also reportedly recovered several sacks of brick chips.

CU proctor Monirul Hasan said the raids were carried out after BCL’s factional clashes on 28 and 29 November.

No one was arrested.

At least 10 BCL men sustained injuries in the clashes among followers of CU BCL unit president Rezaul Haque Rubel and former deputy office secretary Mizanur Rahman Bipul.
