A preventive team of Dhaka Customs detained a man along with 8.45 kg gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Monday, reports UNB.
The arrestee is Himel Khan.
Sazzad Hossain, assistant commissioner, Dhaka Customs, said a preventive team of Dhaka Customs stopped Himel Khan who came here from Dubai by a flight of Emirates Airlines and searched his luggage.
Seventy two gold bars weighing 8.45 kg gold worth Tk 4.22 crore was recovered from the bag pack he was carrying, he added.
He also said Himel was handed over to police and steps will be taken according to customs law.
