Atiqul, Taposh, Salim collect nomination papers

Mayor M Atiqul Islam collected nomination papers to contest Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) from Awami League while Dhaka-10 lawmaker Fazle Nur Tapash and Dhaka-7 lawmaker Haji Salim bought nomination papers for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Representatives of aspirants collected the nomination papers from AL president’s political office in Dhanmondi on Wednesday.

Mayor Atiqul’s personal assistant Saifuddin Emon and younger brother Abu Mahmud Khan collected the nomination form around 3:00pm.

Former organising secretary of Dhaka south unit Awami League, Morshed Kamal, along with 10 city councilors collected the nomination paper on behalf of Taposh.

Haji Salim collected nomination papers. Another local AL leader Najmul Haque also collected nomination papers.

Nomination papers for the two Dhaka city elections would be available till Friday.

Dhaka South City Corporation and Dhaka North City Corporations are scheduled to go to polls on 30 January.
