Political scientist Talukder Moniruzzaman no more

Noted political scientist professor Talukder Maniruzzaman passed away at the Apollo Hospitals in the capital early Sunday.

The 81-year-old professor of political science department at Dhaka University was taken to the ICU of the hospital on 9 December following an ischemic stroke.

He breathed his last there around 3am on Sunday, said his son Sadid Muneer.

Sadid also said that the namaz-e-janaza of the deceased professor will be held at the central mosque of Dhaka University after Asr prayers today.

He will be buried at his family graveyard in Gazipur.

Professor Talukder Maniruzzaman was born in Tarakandi village, Sirajganj on 1 July 1938. His father Abdul Majid Talukder was a schoolteacher.
