DMP observes 45th founding anniversary

The Dhaka Metropolitan police (DMP) on Saturday was celebrating its 45th founding anniversary amid festivity, reports UNB.

The programmes included bringing out a colorful procession from DMP headquarters to Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital at 3:00pm and a civic reception at Rajarbagh Police Lines at 4:00pm.

A cultural programme will be organised after 7:00pm. ATN Bangla will telecast the programme live.

Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan will attend the function as the chief guest while public security division senior secretary Mostafa Kamal Uddin and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary will be present as special guests.

On the eve of the day, president Md Abdul Hamid and prime minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages greeting all members of DMP.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police was founded on 1 February 1976.
