Hospitals here not adequately equipped to treat Khaleda: Fakhrul
BNP’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said hospitals in Bangladesh are not adequately equipped for the treatment of party’s chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The country’s former prime minister needs more advanced treatment since she is suffering from heart and kidney complications. Her physicians are worried about these ailments, he added.
Mirza Fakhrul made this disclosure on Friday at a press conference in capital’s Gulshan.
The BNP leader said, “A medical board has been formed--comprising top health experts-- to oversee the health of Khaleda Zia. The board says the chairperson has fairly recovered from the post covid-19 complications.”
According to her physicians’ prescriptions, it is mandatory to shift Khaleda Zia to a well-equipped center considering her age and ailments, the secretary general added.
Khaleda Zia was diagnosed with coronavirus on 11 April. At the preliminary stage, she received treatment at home. Later on 27 April, she was admitted to the non-Covid cabin of Evercare Hospital.
