Khaleda Zia’s condition stable, but not well: Physicians

The health of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is not normal though she returned home from hospital, physicians said on Tuesday.

Physicians said the condition of Khaleda Zia, who suffers from liver cirrhosis, is apparently stable but there is not guarantee that she would not fall sick soon.

Physicians of the medical board formed for the treatment of the BNP chairperson disclosed the development at a press conference at the auditorium of Evercare Hospital before Khaleda Zia left the hospital for home on Tuesday evening.

Addressing the press conference, medical board member professor Fakhruddin Mohammad Siddiqui said more than 380 officials and employees of Evercare Hospital have contracted Covid-19.

So, considering the health risk of Khaleda Zia, the medical board has decided that she should be treated at home for the time being as her condition is slightly stable, he added.

Fakhruddin Mohammad Siddiqui said if Covid-19 infection creates complexities again, treatment management would be more difficult. That is why the decision has been taken to shift Khaleda Zia from the hospital, he added.
