The law ministry has given its opinion on the appeal of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s family seeking her release and permission from the government for her better treatment abroad.

Law minister Anisul Huq told Prothom Alo on Tuesday that he forwarded the appeal to the home ministry today along with his opinion.

He did not disclose anything about his opinion since the matter would go to the prime minister.

The law minister said Khaleda Zia has been released after suspending her sentence. "Now the opinion has been given in accordance with the law".

Earlier, Khaleda Zia’s family also appealed to the home ministry.

According to government sources, like previously, a request was also made this time seeking the release of Khaleda Zia and permission to allow her go abroad for treatment.
