Jatiya Party (JaPa) will take part in the next general election. The party will field candidates in all 300 constituencies in the polls.

JaPa secretary general Mujibul Haque made the announcement on behalf of the party’s chairman GM Quader at a briefing in the party chairperson’s Banani office this afternoon.

“We have been assured by the Election Commission (EC) and different quarters of government that the election would be free and fair and there would be no interference. The voters will be able to come to the polling centers to exercise their franchises,” Mujibul Haque said.

JaPa secretary general, however, said he doesn't want to disclose which levels of the government assured them.

Mujibul Haque said JaPa will not take part in the election within any alliance this time and field candidates in all constituencies.

Mujibul Haque said the party has sold a total of 1,400 nomination forms till 3:00pm today. JaPa on Monday started selling nomination forms to the aspirants who want to contest in the next general election.
