Taimur Alam removed from Khaleda Zia's advisor post
BNP has removed Taimur Alam Khandakar from the post of advisor to its chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday for contesting in the Narayanganj City Corporation election as an independent mayor candidate.
BNP assistant organising secretary Abdus Salam confirmed the development to Prothom Alo. Earlier on 25 December, Taimur was removed from Narayanganj district BNP unit.
Abdus Salam told Prothom Alo that BNP is not contesting in any elections, including national, local, under this government. But Taimur Alam is competing in the election as an independent mayor candidate using the party’s post. He was removed to clarify the party’s stance in this election.
