Dengue: five more patients hospitalised

Five more people were hospitalised with dengue in 24 hours till Saturday morning, as reported by UNB.

Three of the new patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka while the other two outside of it, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Thirty-eight dengue patients, including 16 in the capital, are now undergoing treatment at hospitals across the country.

So far, the DGHS has recorded 691 dengue cases, 645 recoveries, and eight deaths this year.

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.

Meanwhile, 62,423 dengue cases and 61,971 recoveries have been recorded in the country last year.
