Rural Development Academy DG dies of COVID-19

Director general of Rural Development Academy (RDA) in Bogura died of coronavirus disease, COVID-19, at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Saturday morning, reports UNB.

Aminul Islam, additional secretary of BCS administration (Batch-8), was diagnosed with novel coronavirus infection on 23 June and was undergoing treatment at his official residence at RDA, Bogura.

As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to the hospital on 9 July where he died around 9:00am today.

He is survived by his wife and two sons.

In his long career, Aminul Islam served as additional divisional commissioner of Rajshahi, director of local government department of Rajshahi division, deputy secretary to food ministry and deputy commissioner of Sirajganj district.

He joined as DG of Rural Development Academy on 6 February 2019.

He also received “Integrity Award” in June of this year.
