Seven die of Covid-19 with 1998 new cases

Seven people died of Covid-19 in last 24 hours till Tuesday morning, taking the death toll to 29,181, says the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to their report, the number of detected novel coronavirus cases in the country rose to 19,82, 972 on Tuesday as 1,998 more cases were reported, after testing 11,932 samples, including rapid antigen tests, in the last 24 hours.

The rate of detection in the last 24 hours until 8:00am was 16.74 per cent.

All of the deceased were male. Of them, five were from Dhaka division and one each from Rajshahi and Mymensingh.

Bangladesh detected its first coronavirus patient on 8 March in 2020 and recorded its first death of the disease on 18 March that year.
