The National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Wednesday awarded Transcom Group chairman Shahnaz Rahman as the highest taxpayer in women category in fiscal 2021-22.
She has been awarded for the seventh time in a row.
NBR chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem handed over a crest and tax card to the chief financial officer (CFO) Md Kamrul Hasan on her behalf.
Finance minister, AHM Mustafa Kamal, attended the event as the chief guest with NBR chairman in the chair.
Shahnaz Rahman is the wife of late Latifur Rahman, former chairman of Transcom Group. The NBR honoured Latifur Rahman and his family with the title of ‘Kar Bahadur’ in 2017, along with 84 other families who have been paying taxes for years.
