Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury on Thursday visited Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) leader Haider Akbar Khan Rono who is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after being infected with coronavirus, reports UNB.

Zafrullah together with Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital's physicians Najeeb Mohammad and Matin Khan went to the DMCH's ICU cabin at the cardiology department at 10:30am and talked to Rono, and inquired about his treatment.

He also wished the CPB leader a speedy recovery.

Rono, a politburo member of CPB, was admitted to the DMCH on Monday after he was diagnosed with coronavirus.

Zafrullah also tested COVID-19 positive on 25 May.

He tested negative for the virus on 13 June, but he has been still suffering from pneumonia.

Zafrullah has been receiving treatment at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital in the city's Dhanmondi area.
