‘Database of prisoners being prepared’

Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan said the government is now preparing a database of the prisoners on Wednesday in Gazipur, reports BSS.

“The government has taken up an elaborate plan for overall development of prisoners. Ten prisons have already been built and works on constructing seven more prisons are going on,” he said this while addressing a function as the chief guest marking the Prison Week-2016 at Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur.

Stressing need for motivation and training of the prisoners for rehabilitating them in the society as worthy citizens, he said adding, “Training school for prisoners has been set up to make the prisoners as worthy citizens.”

Local lawmaker Md Zahid Ahsan Russell, senior home secretary Md Mozammel Haque Khan, director general (DG) of prisons Brig Gen Syed Ikhtiar Uddin, and addition DG of prisons Col Md Fazlul Kabir, were present on the occasion.
