India begins transshipment through Akhaura land port Thursday

India will begin moving oil through Akhaura land port of Brahmanbaria district on Thursday under the transshipment contract with Bangladesh.

Bhairab and Ashuganj Navy port Inspector Md Shah Alam confirmed this development, reports UNB.

The consignment of 220 metric tonnes of oil already reached the Navy port on Sunday.

Emami Agrotech Limited will be transporting the oil through the port, he added.
