The United Arab Emirates (UAE) pledged a $2 billion investment to develop food parks in India in order to tackle food insecurity in South Asia and the Middle East, a joint statement from the UAE, India, the United States and Israel said on Thursday.

The parks will incorporate advanced climate technology, the statement said, in order to help maximize crop yields.

"US and Israeli private sectors will be invited to lend their expertise and offer innovative solutions that contribute to the overall sustainability of the project," the statement said.
