Dollar price further increases by 50 paisa

Bangladesh Bank has increased the price of US dollar by 50 paisa to Tk 94.45 per dollar, which was Tk 93.95.

The central bank has sold 70 million dollars from its reserve in new price.

Bangladesh Bank said the new price of dollar is inter-bank rate.

However, dollars are not being sold in this price in the banks. Banks yesterday collected dollars over Tk 100 per dollar and they paid the import liabilities in the same price. As a result, there is a gap of Tk 5 in dollar price between Bangladesh Bank and kerb market.

Bangladesh Bank executive director and spokesperson Sirajul islam said price of dollar has been raised by 50 paisa.
