Banks should concentrate on new entrepreneurs: Kamal Mojumder

State minister for industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder

State minister for industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder, MP, on Saturday asked commercial banks to concentrate more on new entrepreneurs, including women, to boost the country’s economic growth, reports BSS.

“New entrepreneurs across the country should be given required banking facilities and loan for the development of local potential industries,” he said while inaugurating digital banking fair as chief guest.

Islami Bank organised the fair at Khilgaon Girls School and College premise in the capital, said a ministry press release.

Mojumder said banks have special role in reducing social disparity and that is why the under privileged people have to be included in banking services through alternative ways.

The state minister urged the banks to offer quick services in export-import trade.

Union Bank managing director Omar Faruk said there would be no more cash transaction in fourth industrial revolution. So, banks should take preparation to face the upcoming challenges, he remarked.

Islami Bank chairman professor Najmul Hasan and executive vice president Mohammad Ullah, among others, also addressed the programme.
