A single country trade fair titled “Dutch-Bangla Expo-2016” is scheduled to be held in the Netherlands on 28-29 September.

To assess the preparation of the fair, Dutch Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DBCCI) held a review meeting followed by an iftar mahfil at Gardenia in Dhaka’s Gulshan area on Tuesday.


The unique trade fair is being jointly organised by the Bangladesh embassy in the Netherlands and the DBCCI.

The expo is patronised by the prime minister's office (PMO) and supported by foreign affairs ministry and the Netherlands embassy in Dhaka.

President of DBCCI Md Hassan Khaled warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the upcoming event.

Director general (Europe) at the foreign ministry Mohammad Khorshed Alam Khastagir focussed on business potential for Bangladeshi exporters in the Netherlands.

Lisette Blum, first secretary (political and economic affairs) at the Netherlands embassy in Dhaka expressed her gratitude to DBCCI for the chamber's activities to develop bilateral trade between the two countries. She assured the businesspeople of the best support for their enthusiastic steps torwards developing business for both the countries.

Chowdhury Md. Hamid Al Mahbub, director at the Board of Investment, Mohammed Shoheler Rahman, manager at Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), Md. Abul Bashar, deputy manager at Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA), Md. Atiqul Haque, vice president of DBCCI, and Altaf Hossain Biswas, secretary general at DBCCI attended the function.

Masudur Rahman, Canada Bangladesh Chamber president, Taskeen Ahmed, India Bangladesh Chamber president, KB Ahmed, Bangladesh Myanmar Chamber president, and Muhammad Golam Mustafa, senior vice president of Indonesia Bangladesh Chamber, were present among the distinguished guests.
