City bank presented its 3rd quarter 2019 financial performance through an ‘Earnings Disclosure’ event organised on 21 October 2019 at the bank’s head office.

Existing and potential investors across the globe, researchers and analysts and other individuals involved in capital market activities joined the event through web platforms. CBL’s official Facebook page also webcast the event live.
Consolidated earnings per share (EPS) of the bank was recorded at BDT 2.58 for the period from January to September 2019 against that of BDT 2.21 during the same period last year. The bank also reported BDT 2,622 million consolidated after tax profit during the three quarters of the year 2019, which was BDT 2,250 million during the same period of previous year.

The event started with the presentation on the recent financial performance of the bank by Md. Mahbubur Rahman, DMD and chief financial officer of the bank, followed by a speech from Mashrur Arefin, City Bank’s managing director and CEO, briefly discussing current strategic positioning of the bank.

The event then opened the floor for a lively Q&A session where participants shared their concerns and queries with the management of the bank.

The bank has attracted much attention from investment communities across the globe in recent years through its noticeable presence and growth in the private commercial banking industry in Bangladesh. This event is one of the continuous efforts by the bank to scale up investor relation initiatives to cater to the need of this community.
