OPPO and BURO Bangladesh honors 3 real-life heroes

OPPO Bangladesh, in collaboration with BURO Bangladesh, ran a ‘Stories of Heroic People’ campaign to find stories of struggle and success of real-life heroes of contemporary Bangladesh with a view to commemorating the 50th Victory Day of Bangladesh. Three real-life heroes have been selected through this campaign who have immense contribution to the country and the society, said a press release.

Starting on 12 December, the campaign continued till 18 December 2021. During this period, OPPO fans shared the stories of heroic people with OPPO official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/OPPOBangladesh/videos/305471278139431).

Many people participated in the campaign and shared the stories of the heroes they know by capturing the photos with OPPO smartphone. Out of innumerable stories, three persons -- Lubaba Tul Jannat, Simanto Mondol and Nipa Bepari have been selected as the winners of this year’s campaign. They came up with the real life heroes.

The real-life heroes are – Dulal Sir, Rabindranath Biswas and Sajedul Islam. Dulal is a teacher who was subjected to inhuman torture during the Liberation War. Despite the inhuman torture, his love for his country and society did not diminish, it just increased. After the liberation war, he dedicated his life for the betterment of his area by creating educational opportunities for the students. He has established a number of educational institutes in his areas and built mosque as well. The 65-year-old Dulal is still striving hard to make this society a better place to live in. To that end, he is still teaching in his school ‘Anirban School’.

Rabindranath Biswas of Bararia village under Batiaghata upazila in Khulna district, is a 70-year old freedom fighter and a village doctor who treats people with medicinal plants. He used to treat sick and injured freedom fighters in 1971 and provide them food. From 1971 till date, he is providing free treatment to the villagers. Despite the fact that his name is not on the official list of freedom fighters, he does not feel frustrated because he believes in helping people under any circumstances.

Sajedul Islam is a volunteer. Involved in various social activities, he regularly donates blood himself and at the same time encourages others to donate blood too. During the pandemic, he provided free oxygen cylinders in collaboration with ‘Gopalganj Bondhu Mahal’ and worked to raise awareness about health issues.
