‘Amazon interested to sell Bangladeshi products’

Amazon, an American e-commerce giant, is interested to sell Bangladeshi products in the global market through its network worldwide.

State minister for information and communication technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak told this to newspersons after a meeting with Amazon’s representatives at ICT Tower in the capital’s Agargaon area.

“Amazon wants to sell Bangladeshi products globally through its online platform. We’re now thinking of policies and strategies in this regard,” said the junior minister.

“Whether they will begin their business here in Bangladesh, it totally depends on their will and our policies,” he added.

State minister Zunaid Ahmed led the Bangladesh team while Amazon’s international expansion wing’s category manager Gagan Deep Sagar represented his side at the meeting.

Asked about the matter, sources at the government’s information and communication technology department said a meeting was held.

But, they declined to comment on the matter right now.
