Filming of the Indo-Bangla film 'Sitara' started a few weeks ago.

Fazlur Rahman Babu, one of the lead characters in the film, completed his 10-day shooting stint in the char (river island) areas near Teesta River in Mekhliganj of Cooch Behar and returned home on Tuesday.

South Indian actor M Nassar, renowned for his role in blockbuster 'Bahubali' as Bijjaladeva, also has a major role in the film.

Sharing his experience in India, Babu said that Raima Sen, the female protagonist, and M Nassar both praised his acting. Nassar and the team came to see him off at the Changrabandha border on Tuesday.

The actor said the 'Bahubali' actor showed interest to work in Bangladeshi films in future.

"We built a strong bonding during the shooting," Babu told Prothom Alo.

Babu said, Nassar threw a farewell party before his departure on Sunday. The South Indian actor cooked some dishes himself for the party.

'Sitara' is a joint production film based on the novel 'Bhorer Proshuti' by renowned author Abul Bashar. The film is directed by Ashish Roy. Zahid Hasan and Shahed Ali are also acting in 'Sitara'.

In the film, Babu is the husband of Raima Sen, who plays Sitara. It is a story of cross-border smuggling. Babu is a smuggler who left his wife to the mercy of an abusive creditor.

M Nassar is playing the role of the creditor. Zahid Hasan will be seen as the lover of Raima in the film.
