Emon's seven-year secret

A photo posted on actor Emon's Facebook profile on Sunday caused much confusion among his fans. In the photo titled "happy marriage anniversary", the actor, so far known as a bachelor, was seen all cozied up with an unknown woman. Who was that mysterious woman? "My wife, Ayesha Rahman," Emon unraveled the mystery.

Talking to Prothom Alo over the phone, Emon revealed that he got married seven years ago. "We were in a relationship, later we got married with our families' consent," Emon said.

So why did he keep his marital status a secret? "I was just starting my movie career at the time of my marriage. My well wishers from the cine world advised me to do so for the sake of my career," he answered. He also said his wife supported his decision.

Being asked why he is coming out with this story now, Emon said, "Keeping such a big secret was hampering my personal life."

Marriage is not the only thing Emon kept a secret. "We have two sons, Samin and Shayan," he added.

Emon has asked his fans to keep him and his family in their prayers.
