Enamul Haque, Sara Zaker receive Badruddin Award

Theatre personalities -- Enamul Haque and Sara Zaker -- have received ‘Badruddin Hossain Memorial Award 2016’ for their outstanding contributions to the country’s theatre arena, reports news agency UNB.

Cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor handed over the awards among the recipients at a programme at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday, the second day of a five-day theatre festival.

Padatik Natya Sangsad organised the programme.

The five-day festival began at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on 7 April, marking the 93rd birth anniversary of eminent

educationist, Language Movement veteran and Padatik Natya Sangsad lifetime chairman Syed Badruddin Hossain.

The festival is featuring a total of 10 popular plays which will end on 11 April.
