Faridi to be recalled on Asian TV

Private satellite television channel Asian TV will telecast a weeklong programme titled ‘Tribute to Humayun Faridi’ to honour of the late actor during the coming Eid holidays, says news agency UNB.
As part of the tribute, seven films in which Faridi played important roles, will be screened by Asian TV, each on every day starting from the 2nd day of Eid.
The seven films that have been selected by the channel are ‘Ranga Bou’, ‘Dusshahosh’, ‘Judge Barrister’, ‘Bishwa Premik’, ‘Teji, Bhondo Baba’ and ‘Taka’r Ohonkar’.
These films will be screened on Asian TV at 10:50am every day.
Faridi was widely acclaimed for playing a variety of roles, never afraid to stretch his own oeuvre and test audience expectations, consistently enriching even otherwise bland scripts that infested remarkable performances in dramas and movies.
He was awarded National Film Award in 2004 for his acting in Matritva.
The actor died at the age of 60 at his Dhanmondi residence in the capital on 13 February in 2012.
