Filmmaker Shahidul Islam Khokon passes away

Noted filmmaker Shahidul Islam Khokon died at a Dhaka hospital on Monday morning. 

He breathed his last at a hospital in Uttara at 8:15am, said his family.

The director was suffering from a motor neuron disease for the last several years.

Khokhon was the director many commercially successful films like ‘Ghatok’, ‘Palabi Kothay’, ‘Lal Shobuj’, ‘Bhondo’, ‘Madam Phuli’, ‘Birpurush’, ‘Loraku’, ‘Biplob’ and so on.

He won the National Film Award for ‘Madam Phuli’.
