Globe Theatre set for Dhaka show

The world famous Globe Theatre, set by the legend William Shakespeare himself, is coming to Bangladesh with its much acclaimed production Hamlet, one of the five best tragedies of the playwright.
Globe Theatre, currently on a world tour celebrating Shakespeare's 450th birth anniversary, will make its stop in Dhaka on 14 July. The production of Hamlet will be staged on 15 July at the National Theatre of Shilpakala Academy.

At a press conference arranged by Dhaka Theatre on Monday, theatre personality Nasir Uddin Yusuf talked about Global Theatre’s upcoming Dhaka tour and its impact on Bangladeshi stage drama scene.
“It will be an unique experience for Dhaka audience, and Bangladeshi theatres will be benefited from it as well,” he said.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, British Council and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs are assisting in the brining the play to Dhaka.
