Humayun Faridi’s death anniv Monday

The 5th death anniversary of legendary actor Humayun Faridi will be observed on Monday.

Different television channels will air various programmes on the occasion, says UNB news agency. 

A versatile actor, Faridi, passed away on 13 February, 2012 due to chronic lungs disease.

Faridi made his television debut through the 1982 BTV play, ‘Nil Nakshar Shandhaney’.

Some of his notable works include ‘Pathar Shomoy’ (1989), ‘Dui Bhai’ (1990), ‘Shiter Pakhi’ (1991), ‘Kothao Keu Nei’ (1990), ‘Shomudre Gangchil’ (1993) and ‘Kachher Manush’.

Faridi started acting for big screen in 1990s and earned popularity for bringing new concept in film acting.

He was awarded National Film Award in 2004 for his acting in ‘Matritta’.
