Humayun Faridi’s death anniversary today
The 6th death anniversary of renowned actor Humayun Faridi is being observed on Tuesday.
Different television channels will air films featuring the famous actor, and events on his life and works, reports UNB.
The noted performer of television dramas, movies and theatre died on 13 February 2012 in Dhaka at the age of 59.
He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for best actor for his lead role in film Matritto (2004) while he was awarded Ekushey Padak posthumously in 2018.
The government announced his name as one of the eminent citizens for awarding prestigious Ekushey Padak for 2018 for his contribution to the film industry.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the Ekushey Padak to the awardees on 20 February at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium.
Humaun Faridi debuted in the television dramas through his performance in ‘Nil Nakshar Shandaney’ in 1982 while he began his film acting career in film ‘Din-Mojur’ directed by Shahidul Islam Khokon.
Faridi was born on 29 May 1952 at old Dhaka’s Narinda.
