Popular singer Kona is quite busy with her solo songs, stage shows and voiceover stints. Her duet song ‘Kichhu mukh chena lage’ with Mahtim Shakib was released on the Scenespot App recently. Another song ‘Rasik Amar’ featured in the movie ‘Shahenshah’ created quite a buzz on Youtube. She paired with Savvy in the song. The singer in a recent conversation with Prothom Alo talked about various aspects of her life and career.

The interview is as follows:

Prothom Alo: How is the public response about ‘Kichhu Mukh Chena Chena lage’?

Kona: The song will be featured in a web series. I sang the song before filming the series. Many liked the song at the time. It is penned, composed and put to music by Naved Parvez. Nusrat Imrose Tisha and ABM Musa are cast in the video.

Prothom Alo: You gave your voice to the theme song of 'Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Gold Cup Football'......

Kona: Six different artistes sang the song. The other five are Mumtaz, Elita, Porshi, Dola and Kumkum. The video of the song was filmed in Dhaka stadium on Thursday.

Prothom Alo: You are not regular in playback. Why?

Kona: I sang six to seven songs in the new year in two and a half months. Also there are less movies these days. My last playback song was ‘Rashik Amar’ in ‘Shahenshah’ film that generated 4.6 million views in 20 days. Nusrat Faria and Shakib Khan danced well in the song

Prothom Alo: When will your next album be releases?

Kona: Music albums don't work anymore. It is the era of music video instead. My last album ‘Rhythmic Kona’ was released in 2016. I am preparing for a song to be released on Pahela Baishakh.

Prothom Alo: What about stage shows?

Kona: I have to do stage shows for at least 10 days a month. Winter is a busy season for us. I am doing voiceovers and jingles for advertisements as well. Eighty per cent of the big commercials’ voiceovers are done by me. I received offers for movie dubbing too, but could not manage time.

Prothom Alo: Who do you envy as a singer?

Kona: I am not jealous of anybody.

Prothom Alo: Who would you like as your travel partner?

Kona: Nusrat Faria, I think. We have lots of fun together.
