Nusrat Faria turns singer

Nusrat Faria won hearts of many both as an actor and an anchor. For quite a number of times, she impressed moviegoers with her looks and voice. But this time she tried something new.

The actor has tried her hand at singing for a music video, 'Pataka'. Written by Rakib Rahul, the song has been composed by Pritom Hasan.

Nusrat Faria, who balances her film career both in Bangladesh and India, spoke to Prothom Alo about her singing project and more.

Prothom Alo: What are you up to now?

Nusrat: I am busy with the song right now. I sang for the first time. Now we are preparing to film the music video. Hope, we can surprise the viewers with something new.

PA: Where and when will the shooting start?

Nusrat: The song will be filmed in India's Mumbai on 18 and 19 March. It will be a film-like song. Baba Yadav from India will choreograph it.

PA: When will the music video release?

Nusrat: Hopefully, it will be released by the first week of April. It will be launched on my YouTube channel at the time. 

PA: Why song?

Nusrat: Well, I used to sing in the shooting set of ‘Inspector Notty K’ with Jeet. He inspired me for singing after the shooting. Then one day my legal adviser Chishti introduced me with Pritom Hasan.

PA: How was your experience of singing?

Nusrat: Just don’t ask. It was really challenging. I started recording the song at 9:00pm and finished it at 2:00am. I fell sick after that. 

PA: Is there any new film you have signed for?

Nusrat: Yes, two in fact. I am currently reading the scripts. One of them is a joint venture while the other one is a Tollywood film.

PA: Any plans for singing in future?

Nusrat: I wish to sing for a bigger platform in future. Besides, I am planning to make a ‘fitness show’ for my YouTube channel.

PA: You were to pair up with Indian actor Jeet in ‘Sultan’, but now we have come to know Bidya Sinha Mim will act opposite him. Why is so?

Nusrat: It was never me in ‘Sultan’. Actually we planned in the set of ‘Inspector Notty K’ that I am not going to act in ‘Sultan’. It’s because, I and Jeet worked in three films together. Viewers may find it monotonous.

PA: If you have to work together with any of them, who will you choose among Mim, Mahi and Pori Moni?

Nusrat: I want to work with Mahi. In fact, she is my favourite actress. Mahi is a versatile actress.

PA: Are you getting married anytime soon?

Nusrat: I am 23 now. My family is also insisting me to get married. Let’s see what happens.
