Online registration for Bengal Classical Music Fest begins

The online registration of people for the Bengal Classical Music Festival 2017 has begun.
Those who want to enjoy the festival can register their names at www.bengalclassicalmusicfest.com, reports UNB.
The sixth edition of the five-day long Bengal Classical Music Festival will begin on 26 December at the Dhanmondi's Abahani Playground in the Dhaka.
Bengal Foundation, a public trust, will organise the event. The festival will be dedicated to emeritus professor Anisuzzaman.
Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will be present in the inaugural ceremony as chief guest.
Besides, cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor, high commissioner of India in Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh MP, Abahani Playground president Salman F Rahman, Square Limited director Anjan Choudhury will attend as special guests.
After the inaugural ceremony, L Subramaniam and the Astana Symphony Philharmonic Orchestra from Kazakhstan, Rajrupa Chowdhury (Sarod), Vidushi Padma Talwalkar (Khayal), Firoz Khan (Sitar), Supriya Das (Khayal), Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay, Rakesh Chaurasia (Flute) and Purbayan Chatterjee (Sitar) will entertain the classical musical lovers throughout the night on 26 December.
On the second day (27 December), Aditi Mangaldas Dance Company (Kathak), Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay (Tabla), Pandit Shivkumar Sharma (Santoor), Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar (Khayal), Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan (Sitar), Avijiit Kundu (Dhrupad), Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay, Pandit Ronu Majumdar (Flute) and Pandit Debojyoti Bose (Sarod ) will perform.
On 28 December, Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay (Sitar), Vidwan Vikku Vinayakram and Selvaganesh Vinayakram (Ghatam & Kanjeera), Govt Music College (Khayal), Abir Hossain (Sarod), Gazi Abdul Hakim (Flute), Pandit Uday Bhawalkar (Dhrupad), Vidushi Kala Ramnath (Violin), Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty (Khayal ) will enthral the audience.
On the fourth day (29 December) of the event will present the dance offerings: Manipuri, Bharatnatyam and Kathak, by Sweety Das, Amit Chowdhury, Snata Shahrin, Sudeshna Shyamaprabha, Mehraj Haque Tushar.
Later, Nilesh Ranadive (Tabla), Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay (Sarod), Ustad Rashid Khan (Khayal), Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar (Sarod ) and Mysore Manjunath (Violin), Pandit Jasraj (Khayal), Saskia Rao de-Haas (Cello), Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee (Sitar) will perform on that night.
On the last day (30 December) of the event, the audience will enjoy the beautiful performance of Odissi by Vidushi Sujata Mohapatra, Mohan Veena by Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Khayal by Brajeswar Mukherjee, Sitar by Pandit Kushal Das and Kalyanjit Das, Khayal by Pandit Kaivalyakumar, Flute by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.
Bengal Foundation has been organising the fest since 2012 aiming to revive the lost heritage of the rich classical music in Bangladesh.
