Humayun 'liked' Tisha, her acting

Bangladesh actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha has paired up with famous Indian actor Irrfan Khan for the first time in the film Doob : No Bed Of Roses, directed by her husband, filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Faroooki. She spoke to Prothom Alo about the movie.
The interview is taken by Rashel Mahmud and its text rewritten in English by Toriqul Islam.
Prothom Alo: How did you enjoy pairing up with Irrfan Khan?
Tisha: I was so excited and nervous when I first came to know that Irrfan Khan will star in the film. I was a little bit tensed, too.. Thinking how I would adjust with him and how much comfort he would feel with me during the shoot. But, when the shooting started in Bangladesh, things were not so upsetting. He (Irrfan) did not let us feel that he is such a big artist. In the process, I learnt from him how to be a simple person having such a big exposure.
PA: The director of the film is your husband. Have you ever been scolded by him during the shooting?
Tisha: We had done a lot of works together in the past. We are professional during the shoot. The husband-wife relationship turns to artiste-director relationship during the shooting. He is very cooperative with artistes. And I’m telling you that I did not get any extra advantage being wife of him, rather I was scolded much more than others.
PA: How about your small-screen works?
Tisha: Nowadays, I used to get a lot of offers. I do believe in quality, not in number. I will prefer working for a quality production in the future.
PA: What’s your plan in film career?
Tisha: Meanwhile, I’ve got some offers. I believe in movies. It doesn't matter whether it is commercial or noncommercial one. I think there are two kinds of films - bad or good.
PA: What do you like to read after the script-work?
Tisha: I usually do not get enough time after this. I try to spend the rest of time with my family. Even then, if I get any chance, I try to read either cookbook or animal book. I’m a huge fan of Discovery Channel.
PA: That means, you have a very little chance of reading a book. Could you please mention titles of some books that you like to read?
Tisha: Usually, I do not get enough time to read a novel or stories. Some old novels, for example Anisul Hoque’s Maa and Humayun Ahmed’s Priyotomeshu, are the most favourites.
PA: Did you ever meet Humayun Ahmed?
Tisha: Yeah, I worked for a single drama with him. I got to know him during the shooting. He was a very humourous character and talked with the artistes in very good languages. He told me ‘I like your acting and you’. He also told me that I look alike his daughter Shila. He then gifted me a book.
PA: How do you evaluate Irrfan Khan?
Tisha: He is a big child. He had a lot of questions about every thing around him. He is so cooperative with every artiste, co-artiste and even with production boys. He loves nature. He was mesmerised seeing natural beauty of Bandarban. The very interesting thing is that he had done a difficult job of leaning our language.
