'Putra' hits cinemas

The film 'Putra' (The Son) focusing on autism released on Friday across the country in 106 cinema halls, reports UNB.

'Putra' zooms in on social stigma of autism. It features the story of an autistic boy, abandoned by his father. A woman adopts the boy and discovers his talent.

The cast of the film includes Ferdous, Jaya Ahsan, Faria Shams Seouti, Dolly Johur, Laila Hasan, Monir Khan Shimul, Shams Sums, Munira Yusuf Memi, Shormi Mala, Al Mamun, Lina Ahmed, Mahmud Sazzad, Bappa Majumder, Fahmida Nabi, Meherin, Milton Khandar and child artiste Lajim Azizul Hakim.

Written by Haroon Rashid, the two-hour long film has been directed by Saiful Islam Mannu.

Department of Film and Publication (DFP) under the information ministry produced the film with Jazz Multimedia presenting it, taking technical support from Impress Telefilm Ltd.
