Young filmmaker Sohel Rana Boyati is all set to release the shortfilm ‘Tiyar Jobanbondi’ based on the short story of Anna Punam’s ‘Venus er Jholsano Kishor Dana’. The shooting has been completed recently.

The film is about the psychological factors responsible for rape and sexual assault in society, according to the maker.

“Every man in our society has direct or indirect mental connection with rape.  I find myself guilty when I hear about any minor girl faced sexual abuse,” said Sohel Rana.

“Our joint efforts can stop such social menace,” he said, “I tried to depict the unuttered words of a victim in my film.”

Ashish Khandaker, Iqbal Hossain, Joyeeta Mahlanbish, Nilufar Wahid and child artiste Master Brishty played different roles in the film while Kamol Chandra Das was the cinematographer.

“The film is something that will be thought provoking for many. It was challenging for me to act in a rapist’s role. I am very optimistic about the film. Let’s see!” Ashish told Prothom Alo.
