Sumi in ‘Botol Bhoot’

Channel i ‘Shera Nachiye-2015’ dance competitor Shahnaz Sumi will appear in a five-episode TV play directed by Meher Afroz Shaon.

The play, made to be aired on the occasion of upcoming Eid, is an adaptation of Humayun Ahmed’s story ‘Botol Bhoot’ of the same name. Lutfar Rahman has penned the screenplay.

The play will be aired on Duronto TV.

While speaking of her new experience, Sumi seemed very excited. She said, acting in such a play is a ‘dream comes true’.

“It’s been two years since the competition. Working with Meher Afroz Shaon is an experience of a lifetime,” Sumi said.

“I told Shaon ma’am, that I want to work with her during the reality show. She praised my expressions at the time.”

The director praising Sumi once again said on Sunday, her expressions are unique, unlike others.

“I noticed Sumi can spontaneously synchronise her expressions with her dance. I told her she would be able to do well in acting,” Shaon added.

Shahnaz Sumi reached the top 10 list of the dance reality show in 2015. Though, she could not make it further.

Sumi came to the spotlight through a TV commercial in 2017 marking the women’s day that year. The two-minute Square Toiletries hair-oil TV ad went viral on the internet, and there’s been no looking back.
