Shampa Reza and Mita Rahman
Actress Shampa Reza and Mita Rahman’s friendship dates back to the 1970s, before their brush with fame. “I met Mita for the first time in 1974, when I was a student of Holy Cross College, and we became first friends,” said Shampa Reza. She credits their long lasting friendship on the similarities of their thought process.
“The most beautiful part of our friendship is we take care of each other’s children. My son Rifakat Rashid stayed at Mita’s house during his O-Level education. Mita’s son stayed at my house in Sylhet after his A-Level exam and taught in my school as well. Friendship can’t get any better than this, where both friends are always there for each other without any question,” she said.
“We always stay connected, always make sure to talk to each other. I think true friendship grounds a person, and it surely happened to both of us,” she said.
Mehzabien and Hasin
Model and actress Hasin Rowshan and are Mehzabien friends for two years. Over this time, they grew so close that it feels like more than friendship, said Hasin.
“We never spent more than three days without talking to each other. Even when we are busy with shooting, we make time to have dinner together,” she said.
“Mehzabien gets paranoid if she doesn’t hear from me for long, and she started checking the facebook profiles of our other friends, even my husband’s friends to see whether I’m hanging out with them or not. If I don’t inform her my whereabouts, that’s the death of me!” Hasin exclaimed.
Mehzabien shared a story as well. “I wanted to surprise Hasin on her birthday, so I was standing outside of her house and planning with our other friends. Suddenly I got an sms from Hasin that said, "Don’t stand outside, come on up.” The funny thing is, she didn’t even see me standing outside of her house, but she guessed I might do something like that-and she guessed right. She understands me that well,” said Mehzabien.
Tousif Mahbub and Allen Shuvro
Although they knew each other for quite a long time, Tousif and Allen became friends during the shooting of a telefilm about three years ago. Their real life friendship translated well in the real life, and the telefilm became very popular among the youngsters. Since then, many directors have casted this duo together, making their friendship even stronger.
Allen could not pick any single funny incident they shared as friends. “It’s hard to pick one single incident, because we have so much fun together whenever we meet. We talk a lot- from personal problems to acting - everything.” He said.
Teasing each other is the spice of this friendship, Allen said. “I tease him over his obsession with his beard, and he teases me over my short stature. I’m a little shorter than him, and he takes full advantage of that,” said Allen.
