Zahid Hasan in Tallywood film

Zahid Hasan’s new film ‘Halda’ directed by Tauquir Ahmed will be released on 1 December. Before starting the conversation about the movie he talked about something else with Prothom Alo. Zahid said he would appear in a Kolkata film.
What is the name of the film?
I am going to work in a Tallywood film, ‘Sitara’. The story is based on the novel ‘Bhorer Proshuti’ by Abul Bashar, a popular writer from India's West Bengal. The movie, to be directed by Ashish Roy, will be released in both Bangla and Telugu.
How did you get to know about ‘Sitara’?
I was contacted by phone two months ago. Then I got the offer. I talked to the filmmaker over the phone and by SMS. I loved the novel. I was then sent the script and signed the contract later. I will play the role of Dilu in the film.
Who will be your co-actor in ‘Sitara’?
I don’t want to disclose that now.
Where will the film be shot?
The film was initially decided to be shot in the border area of Dinajpur on the Indian side. The director then postponed the shooting until January, 2018. I am preparing for that but at the same time I am a bit anxious.
Why anxious?
I have to stay away from home for one month. It’s very difficult for me.
What do you think about the new film?
I cannot say anything before starting to work. It seems the team wants to make a good film. But I don’t want to comment on this right now.
Are you busy with TV plays right now?
Not exactly. In fact, I get so many TV play offers but most often I refuse hem.
Why do you refuse?
Most often I don’t like their storyline. Nevertheless, sometimes I have to accept some TV play offers. I am not trying to belittle anybody but there are circumstances when I can’t refuse.
What do you think? Why are the storylines not up to the mark?
I think the writers lack intimacy and empathy for their stories. There are so many TV channels these days. As far I know, a TV channel decides to make a play and then asks the writer for a script. Writers write in a hurry, and this is how it works nowadays.
