Popy catches COVID-19

Despite staying at home, Popy has contracted coronavirus.

The actress, one of Dhallywood’s famous faces, said she has been undergoing treatment at her home in Khulna.

“I had symptoms like fever and cough. When I started developing breathing problems, I got myself tested for the virus. The result came COVID-19 positive Wednesday,” said Sadika Parvin Popy.

When asked how she is now, the three-time National Film Award winning actress said, “My respiratory problems have increased and I am suffering from both fever and cold. I feel so weak. I request all to keep me in their prayers.”

Asked how she caught the virus, Popy told Prothom Alo that she might have contracted coronavirus while distributing food to homeless people of Khulna.

The actress has been staying at her Khulna residence for around three months.
