When actress Apu Bishwas revealed in a TV interview that she got married to film star Shakib Khan and they have a son together, Shakib was staying at a five-star hotel in Dhaka. Shakib talked to Prothom Alo over phone from there on Monday.
Prothom Alo: Actress Apu Bishwas said you married her, and you have a son with her.
Shakib Khan: Yes, we got married. Abraham Khan Joy is my son. As she is mother of Abraham, I don't want to dishonour her.
PA: Apu said she wanted your sound film career, and that is why she kept silent for years....
Shakib: Doesn't she want my wellbeing now? It's a conspiracy to ruin my film career. My rivals are trying to pursue their interest. So far I know, she has signed for 4-5 films. She can do it for this purpose.
PA: What do you think- why she did so?
Shakib: Prothom Alo published a news that reads 'Shakib pairs up with Bubly for Rangbaj' film. Apu insisted to be the heroine in the film. Since the morning, she was threatening me should she is not selected for the film, she will call a press conference.
If she respects me as her husband, she should have sought my permission prior to talking to the TV. She didn't do that and dishonour me instead. She kept me under pressure for a long time.
PA: Why is she pressing you?
Shakib: She now wants to be heroine. But look at her; is she suitable for being an actress? Apu never wanted I pair up with any actress other than her. She did not allow me to pair up with Mim, Mahi, Shokh and even with Bindu. Now I'm free to decide.
PA: Why did you keep your marriage secret?
Shakib: Look, now I'm really annoyed with it. I don't want to say anything more about this. I thought it should come to an end. However, Apu cut the matter short. I wanted to keep the thing in a good shape. You will know about Apu's intension after a day or two.
PA: Why did she do this?
Shakib: I have been cast for a Bollywood film and becoming popular beyond the national boundary. I think it's a conspiracy hatched by my rivals prior to it.
