Noted pop singer Tapan Chowdhury recalled memories about the legendary versatile musician Ayub Bachchu, who had passed away in the capital on Thursday.

He felt the death of Ayub Bachchu, known to his fans as AB, was like the death of his younger brother.

“I can’t bear the thought that Ayub Bachchu has left us. We’d started our journey together since the recording of my first song. He directed the music of my first album. He was a giant, a complete musician,” Tapan Chowdhury said.

Praising the versatility of arguably the greatest guitarist in Asia, Tapan said, “Many people say Bachchu is a rock musician only. But he could compose all types of music. A true versatile musician.”

Recalling AB’s dedication to music, the noted pop singer said, “Bachchu wasn't a businessman, he was an all out musician, Bachchu sang and composed music until his last breath. He earned everything through his music... brought up his children, won the love of the people. He is a truly successful.”
