Prominent on both the silver and small screen, Jakia Bari Mamo is currently in Nepal filming a web series.

Her latest release ‘Dohon’ has hit the theatres last week, creating a wave of applauds among viewers.
The actress in a phone interview talked to Prothom Alo about her work and career recently.
Excerpts of her interview:

Prothom Alo:
Where are you right now in Nepal? What are you shooting for?

Mamo:
I am now in Pokhara, shooting for a web series ‘Admission Test-2’ directed by Topu Khan. The first season of the series became very popular. I was not a part of that season though.
After finishing shooting for the series, I am scheduled to work in a number of one-hour TV plays.

Prothom Alo:
Have you worked in any web series before?

Mamo:
No, I didn’t. I am enjoying the work though. Web series is a newer form of entertainment. I feel acting in web series is a bit different from TV acting.
I wish to work in more web series. I will work in Shihab Shahin’s web series right after returning home.

Prothom Alo:
How does it feel to shoot abroad?

Mamo:
It’s exciting. New locations with new storylines. Acting is my profession and its my job to follow directors’ instructions, no matter home or abroad. I have already been in Nepal for several times. It made my work easier.

Prothom Alo:
Why were you absent in the promotional programme of ‘Dohon’?

Mamo:
That's nothing significant.

Prothom Alo:
You seemed very excited earlier.

Mamo:
Well, yes I was. Later, I lost the excitement. A film has been released and it’s doing well. Nothing could be better.

Prothom Alo:
Are you hurt for any reason? You sound like that.

Mamo:
It's nothing like that. I am thinking of the days ahead. I am thinking of new roles and new web series. My new film ‘Swapner Ghor’ will be released very soon. Hope the the viewers will like it.

Prothom Alo:
Who’s your first love?

Mamo:
I forgot his name. I had a relationship with him when I lived in Brahmanbaria.

Prothom Alo:
Who do you buy gifts for from abroad?

Mamo:
For my son, Udbhas.

Prothom Alo:
What would you ask Mamo if you were a journalist?

Mamo:
Why did you work in ‘Dohon’?
