The campaign 'Bhalobasar Bangladesh' has been trending on the social media for some time. The participants had submitted over 9500 one-minute videos and three of the country's top film-makers have now made films based on three of them.

The campaign sought inspiring videos featuring Bangladesh.

It is an initiative of Square, jointly organised with Chhabial to mark the country's 47 years of independence.
Renowned filmmakers Catherine Masud, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Amitabh Reza Chowdhury carried out the role of jury.

"There are numerous videos on the internet presenting a bad image of the country. This initiative will present a positive image of Bangladesh and this is why I got involved in the programme," he said.

The participants were invited to send videos over humanitarian issues, act of bravery, a lifesaving technology or a promising enterprise and so on.

Among the three, Golam Kibria Farooki made 'Abdullah' featuring Shahbaz Sani, Sayak, Manira Mithu and Solaiman Khoka.

Redwan Rony made ‘Phoenix’ starring Nusrat Imrose Tisha alongside Maznun Mizan, Mili Bashar, Sagar Huda and Annesha.

Ashfaque Nipun made ‘Chaka’ (The Wheel) that has Yash Rohan and Sabila Noor in the lead roles.

The films will be screened at the ‘Bhalobasar Bangladesh Film Fest 2018’ and also on four TV channels -- Maasranga, Nagorik TV, Ekushey TV and SA TV -- on 8:00pm from 14 December to 16 December.
